What are the business decisions and activities are those that you, uniquely, as the CEO/business owner must focus on in your business?
That is a key question to answer for you to unlock true growth potential in your business. Business owners/CEOs tend to hang on to way too many things themselves because you are passionate, or because you like control, or because you have not hired people you trust. This can present a dangerous bottleneck and generally block true employee engagement, empowerment, and success along with blocking business growth.
Your focus as an owner/CEO is an absolute necessity to create a sustainable and growing business.
So, take out a sheet of paper.
List everything that you are currently doing in your business.
Then circle ONLY the items that you, uniquely as the CEO/Owner must own and do. For everything not circled, decide right now how to delegate this (e.g., hire, create processes, communicate).
Stay diligent to make sure the circled items remain a small list. You are investing in growth freeing up the time for you to focus on the really important decisions and tasks that shape your company.
Engaging employees and processes to scale is an absolute requirement.
